A chart you can print

Each row is one state from the storage guide. The times are the same cells. Months in the freezer column are about quality.

This is a window, not a guarantee. A sour smell, a slimy surface, or mould means it is finished, even on day one. It is not medical advice. The app does not decide whether the food is still safe either. Disclaimer

Months in the freezer column are about quality. USDA says food held continuously at −18°C (0°F) stays safe; the ministry also notes that freezing does not kill bacteria.

The charts do not all agree. The large figure is the shorter published window.

Questions people ask

Can I print this?

Yes. The print layout hides the site menu. The PDF is the same chart.

Where do the numbers come from?

The same cells as the storage guide. The source is the small line under the cell. No new duration is added.

Why are some cells sentences?

The guide publishes a sentence rather than a duration for that state, for example do not freeze, or not safe. The chart does not turn the sentence into a time.

Is the PDF a different chart?

No. It is this page, printed. The numbers are still the guide’s cells.
