How the pages are written

The storage guide, the blog, and the tools use the same dataset. A duration is entered here only when it is printed on the page named as the source.

Oğuzhan Arslan writes the pages. There is no separate named reviewer. This site does not claim a title in medicine, food microbiology, or official inspection.

The sources used are USDA FSIS, USDA FoodKeeper, FoodSafety.gov, the UK FSA, and Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Each food page ends with the links that page actually cites. If a figure is not on one of those pages, it is not on this site.

When two sources print different windows, the large figure is the shorter published end. The other source is the small line under the cell. Months are not divided into 30 days. Nothing is averaged. Freezer months are about quality. USDA writes that food held continuously at −18°C does not expire for safety, and the ministry writes that freezing does not kill bacteria.

Each guide and blog page shows a published or updated date. A page is revised when a cited source changes or when a food page is corrected. This page does not set a fixed calendar, such as every quarter.

The tools read the same cells. The thawing page does not add hours per cut. The chart is printed from the same rows. The disclaimer page says this is not medical advice.
